Sherwood Forest Park Site
We are still awaiting an update from city staff on the timelines for the tendering of the portion of the site that will become housing. Stay tuned.
All the buildings and even the sidewalks on the site have been removed. We were told (second hand) that the gym is going to be rebuilt in the village of Mossley. When the demolition crew is done, they are to hydro-seed the site with grass seed.

Our Ward Councillor Phil Squire and Ward 5 Councillor Maureen Cassidy are holding a joint open house on Friday January 30 from 6-8 pm at the 2nd floor community room at the Loblaw’s at Richmond and Fanshawe. As you are probably aware Council is working on the new Strategic Plan for the City and are looking for input. The Strategic Plan will drive future City budgets so having your say is important.

Sherwood Forest School Site Update
The city staff recommendation for the rezoning passed unanimously at the City Council’s Planning and Environment Committee last night. I anticipate it will pass next week at City Council. We will keep you up to date as the process moves forward. The next step will be the City declaring the “non-park” portion surplus and preparing a Request for Proposals for the sale and development of the “housing” portion of the site.
The staff report can be found here.

The presentation from the Wednesday, September 3
Community Meeting on the Sherwood Forest PS is now available.
The City of London will be hosting a Public Information Meeting to introduce, and seek the public’s comment on a draft land use option for the redevelopment of the former Sherwood Forest Public School site and associated playfields.
Location: City Hall 2nd Fl Committee Room #1 & 2
300 Dufferin Avenue, City Hall
Date: Wednesday, September 03, 2014
Time: 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Unfortunately, the City was unable to find a venue in the area for this meeting. They wanted an early September meeting in order to make a public participation meeting at the City Council Planning Committee on October 7, so that a decision would be in front of City Council at its last meeting (October 14) before the municipal election.
Please contact Brian Turcotte at 519-661-2500 ext. 4651, or email email@example.com for further details about the Public Information Meeting. Residents in Orchard Park/Sherwood Forest will be getting a letter in mail as well.
