Open House on City’s Draft Strategic Plan
Our Ward Councillor Phil Squire and Ward 5 Councillor Maureen Cassidy are holding a joint open house on Friday January 30 from 6-8 pm at the 2nd floor community room at the Loblaw’s at Richmond and Fanshawe. As you are probably aware Council is working on the new Strategic Plan for the City and are looking for input. The Strategic Plan will drive future City budgets so having your say is important.
If you can’t make the meeting, Councillor Squire would like to hear from you. His e-mail is psquire@london.ca
Sherwood Forest School Site
City staff are currently working on an information report to the City’s Corporate Services Committee which should go forward in mid-February. Hopefuly it will provide more information on the timing of demolition and the proposal for the development of the park and housing on the site.
Community Mailboxes
Sandy has written Canada Post to see if they would be interested in holding a community meeting to confirm locations for the new super mailboxes. Apparently their survey results concluded that people prefer smaller, more numerous, mailboxes. He has been told that Canada Post staff at some point will be talking to those who will find a mailbox next to their property. He expects to know more after the staff report to the City Council’s Civic Works Committee early next month. You will be able to find the report at the City’s web site at: http://www.london.ca/city-hall/meetings/Pages/default.aspx
