London Artists’ Studio Tour
This year’s the London Artists’ Studio Tour takes place Friday, April 15 from 7 to 9:30 pm; Saturday, April 16 from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday, April 17 from noon to 5 pm.
We are very lucky to have a number of artists in our neighbourhood. For over 20 years, there has been an annual event highlighting some of London’s artists and their works.
As part of the Tour, local artist Marlies Gueth invites you to her Opening Night Celebration, Friday, April, 15th, from 7-9.30 p.m. at 60 Bloomfield Dr. Come and enjoy treats and live music.
Tree and Shrub Planting Event in the Northern Part of the Medway Valley ESA
A tree and shrub planting event (and electro-fishing demonstration) in the northern part of the Valley will be held on Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. until noon. If you haven’t been to this part of the Valley it is a good opportunity to see it and see how it is different than “our” part of the Valley.
Lonsdale Garage Sale Day is Expanding – May 7th
The annual garage street sale that has taken place on Lonsdale is spreading to the rest of the neighbourhood. There will be signage and publicity for this day if you want to clear out your garage, cupboards, closets or basement and set up a table at the end of your driveway or garage if it rains. Hours will be from 8 am to noon and expect early birds too.

Sherwood Forest School Site
The City will be conducting an archeological assessment of the site this spring before issuing a request for proposals for development the northern portion of the site for housing.
Annual Community Event – May 26, from 6 pm at Orchard Park Public School
Hold this date for our second community BBQ followed by the Ratepayers Annual General Meeting. Last year we had great weather and a great turnout. More details will follow but if you are interested in helping out on the day of the event, contact Sandy Levin.

Reforest London – Volunteer Opportunities
ReForest London has launched a city-wide initiative called Neighbourhood ReLeaf to provide a tree for every Londoner that wants one.
ReForest is recruiting and training volunteer teams to assist with 3 primary initiatives:
- An intensive door-to-door Tree Blitz campaign targeting neighbourhoods who need trees the most;
- Tree Depots targeting neighbourhoods who could use a few more trees
- Tree planting in parks in every ward aimed at apartment dwellers, plus projects for new Canadians and ethnic minorities.
