Ratepayers Annual General Meeting
Date: Monday, June 16
Time: 7:00 pm
Location: Orchard Park Public School
Important: The meeting date is Monday, June 16, not Wednesday as indicated on the flyer.
The meeting will spend time on the city’s proposal for rezoning the Sherwood Forest School site. The flyer includes some details on the options before us.
See Examples of R6 Zoning for pictures of other developments nearby that are zoned R6, one of the zones the city has applied for.

Medway Valley Heritage Forest Environmentally Significant Area
The City is continuing its review of comments and revisions of the draft Natural Heritage Inventory. It intends to wrap up this review during this summer and then take revised Phase 1 report to City’s Planning and Environment Committee and the new City Council in mid-December of 2014, after which the city will set up the Local Advisory Committee. Linda McDougall is the city staff member in charge of this project.
Further to the recommendations in the draft consultant’s report (and as per comments received) the City will be co-ordinating invasive species work with the consultant and the UTRCA this spring and summer to protect the species at Risk and Species of Conservation Concern in the Valley.
This Project represents an opportunity for the City and Dillon to work in partnership with the UTRCA to control invasive flora populations flagged as High Priority for control. The invasives are Japanese Knotweed and Goutweed (Aegopodium podagraria). Please do not plant these plants in your garden!
Just a reminder, the Medway is not an off leash park or a bike way. Please protect this natural wonder by obeying the no bike signs and keeping dogs on their leashes.
