Western emergency preparedness exercise – May 12

Western University will be conducting an on-campus emergency preparedness exercise on the morning of Monday, May 12.

The drill will likely involve the use of Western’s Severe Weather warning siren.

Western believes that its Severe Weather Warning siren can be a benefit to all who hear it. Western uses data, as well as direct advice, from Environment Canada to determine when to signal a weather alert via the Severe Weather Siren. In the event of a Tornado Warning being issued for the campus and surrounding area, the siren would sound immediately.

Whenever you hear the siren, you are strongly advised to seek shelter; indoors, in basements, and away from windows.
