Sherwood Forest Park and Museum of Ontario Archaeology

Sherwood Forest Park

A delegation from the neighbourhood and Councillor Squire met last week with City staff last week. This was in follow up to a recent report to City Council from City Staff on progress to date on the housing development planned for part of the former Sherwood Forest School site. There were no successful responses to the RFP (Request for Proposals), therefore the City staff recommended going forward with a tender. We want to be sure that a community representative will be involved in the tendering process.

Medway Valley

For many years, we have enjoyed the trails in the Medway. However, one trail was actually on private property and signs were posted to let people know this. Please respect private property. Please respect the signage that has been installed. Someone is going out of their way to destroy the signage. Please don’t hesitate to report such actions to the police.

February News

Park Site

At noon on February 21, City Council’s Corporate Services Committee will review the staff report on the Sherwood Forest School site. As you will note, no successful replies were received to the City’s RFP process for the sale of part of the site for housing. City staff are recommending a tender instead.

January Update

Tree Trimming

The city’s contractor is trimming trees in our area as part of its planned maintenance. It was last done about 10 years ago. Low limbs are removed for proper height over roads and sidewalks including some private trees as per the City’s Boulevard Tree Protection bylaw P-69. Trees will have interior structural pruning to improve health and remove deadwood as well.

Vehicle Break-Ins
